About Vishwakarma
Vishwakarma’ means ‘creating all’. He is the deity of ‘Creative Power’. He holds the universe and he is considered to be the GOD of Architecture or divine engineer to create everything around us, He is represented as being the source of all prosperity. He is regarded as the supreme worker, the very essence of excellence and quality in craftsmanship.
Vishwakarma Puja is celebrated in India on the 17th September every year.The ‘Vishwakarma community’ also celebrate Vishwakarma day on Gobardhan puja’ after Diwali. ‘Vishwakarma Day’ is an auspicious day for the community to commemorate him as the ‘patron GOD’. It is believed that ‘ Vishwakarma’ did not have any birthday like the mortals, so commemoration day was declared by his five children to declare their solidarity to their father.
Hindu scriptures describe Vishwakarma’s architectural accomplishments such as he built many towns and temples for the world. He created ‘Swarga’ (heaven) in satya Yuga, Lanka in the Dwapara Yuga and Dwarka in Treta Yuga.
